Join Just Economics for a film screening of the film Partners followed by a panel discussion on challenges and successes of unionizing efforts in WNC.
When a group of baristas in Buffalo, New York announce their intention to start a labor union, Starbucks responds with an elaborate, illegal anti-union attack. Featuring on-the-ground footage from workers and organizers, Partners takes us to the front lines of the historic union campaign that catalyzed America’s Gen Z labor revival.
Co-sponsored by local unions Asheville Food & Beverage United, ATU Local 128, WNC Central Labor Council, and the Union of Southern Service Workers, the film screening will be followed by a discussion panel with local labor leaders and organizer as panelists.
Light refreshments will be provided. This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP using Eventbrite.
